Samos is proof that it's the little things that make the biggest difference. This small Greek island is the birthplace of some of the world's greatest mathematicians, philosophers and astronomers. This trip has been designed to showcase the island that inspired these great minds. Together with your English-speaking guide you'll discover the Temple of Hera. Once, this was the largest Greek temple in existence and it was built to honour the goddess of women and marriage. All that's left today is a single column that looks like a circular Jenga tower. From here, you'll move on to the Monastery of Megali Panagia. This place was built by monks in the 16th century and it's still in working order today. Next, comes the only bit of the trip that breaks from tradition. You'll head to the workshop of an artist called Timos. His ceramic works are inspired by a Japanese craft called Raku. Once you've seen the artist at work, you'll have time for a break in Pyrgos. This village is traditional to a T and its locals work in viticulture, beekeeping and olive-growing. You'll get to taste some of the local produce alongside a glass of ouzo in a local café here. You'll end the day in Koumaradei, where you'll pop into a traditional herb shop before heading back to your hotel. Tuiuk only
