This tour shows off the Saklikent Gorge. It’s a monster – the second-largest gorge in Europe and the longest and deepest in Turkey. First, though, we’ll swing by nearby ancient Tlos. It was once one of the most powerful Lycian cities in the Mediterranean, and its acropolis, tombs and houses still cling to the edge of the valley. Pomegranate trees and vines decorate the whole place, and it’s all backed by sweeping valley views. After lunch, we’ll head out on a trek along the gorge itself. It’s a two-hour walk, and you’ll wander waterside walkways, peer over bridges and paddle through the shallow river bubbling through the gorge. Dramatic scenery guaranteed.
