The Old Town and its pintxos bars is one of the most outstanding highlights in San Sebastian. Taste a selection of the best mini bites with our local guide. The pintxo crawl is a must for all those who come to the city for its culinary treasures.
Try this miniature cuisine with one of our guides to show you around the streets in the Old Town and its bars with their most emblematic pintxos: from the most traditional ones like the classic “gilda”, a spicy pickled chilli pepper, anchovy and olive skewer, created as a tribute to Rita Hayworth, to the most innovative ones, which require a more complex and creative preparation.
The pintxo came up as a small slice of bread with some food on top. The food and bread were held together with a toothpick and the term “pintxo” was born. That image evolved and nowadays the pintxo is also haute cuisine in miniature, elaborated flavours concentrated in small and delicious doses.
Live the atmosphere of the bars like any other local and taste these culinary pearls, everything washed down with the best wines of the area, of course!
