Tequila fans will enjoy a visit to a quaint tequila distillery that is run by a family who is proud to follow traditional methods to produce this famous “spirit” of Mexico. Savor a taste of the tequila, made 100% from the blue agave plant that grows in the gentle, surrounding hills.
Our tour continues with delightful and delicious escape to the charming village Puerta de Canoas where flavors and traditions unite! You will witness a great performance of dancing horses trained by churros (Mexican Cowboys) for competition in Mexican rodeos (charreadas); after watching the exhibitions, the village ladies will demonstrate the age-old technique of preparing handmade tortillas and traditional salsa. You will learn how to roll and make your own tortillas along with tasty salsa, that is delicious when topped with fresh, soft regional cheese.
After lunch, join us for short walk to a typical brick ad adobe house to taste “jamoncillos” (a milk candy made with seeds and nuts), one of the most traditional desserts in the village).
