Discover the spectacular landscapes of Los Haitises, the most famous National Park in the Dominican Republic. In this half-day tour only Available From Cayo Levantado hotel, you will be able to discover this wildlife reserve and bird sanctuary situated on the remote north eastern coast of the island, studded with small islands and caves and comprises more than 60km2 of mangrove. The reserve is also home to many caves and caverns created by water erosion. Many of caves were adorned with cave paintings by Native inhabitants from the pre-Columbus era. This area is also home to hundreds of different species of birds. The silence of the mangrove swamps interrupted only by the myriad sounds of incredible birdsong and The sight of frigate birds and pelicans circling low overhead, will linger in your memory for years to come.
