Información

Set amongst lush rolling woodlands, Nikko is the perfect place to explore the mighty power of the Tokugawa shogunate as well as Japan’s most inspiring natural beauty.

HIGHLIGHTS:

* See the ornate carvings and lavish design of Nikko Toshogu Shrine
* Contemplate the pristine beauty of Lake Chuzenji
* Be bowled over by the power of Kegon Falls
* Tour ends in Nikko for those wishing to continue their travels

Begin by travelling to Nikko by bus from Tokyo, where on arrival we take a tour of Toshogu Shrine, one of the country’s significant World Heritage Sites. Behold its beautifully ornate and lavish design that makes it a National Treasure of Japan and see the Edo period come to life before your eyes. 400 years old, to this day you can still spot the shrine’s legendary carvings; including the three monkeys depicting the proverb ‘hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil’, as well as the sleeping cat.

A symbol of Nikko, Lake Chuzenji was created by an eruption of Mt Nantai. Spend a few quiet minutes here to contemplate the surrounding peace and tranquility before we continue our tour to one of Japan’s three great waterfalls – Kegon Falls. Falling an impressive 97 metres, the water dramatically gushes from Lake Chuzenji in what is guaranteed to be an unforgettable spectacle. Absorb the display of natural beauty from the observation deck and return with incredible pictures etched in your mind. The tour ends at Nikko Station, perfect for those wanting to spend the night or for those continuing their journey.
