Come and experience the riches of the Mayan world and take a day trip to the stunning ruins of Coba. Then learn all about Mayan culture at a traditional community, swim in a cenote, paddle through a pristine lagoon and abseil through the treetops. First we'll visit the impressive Mayan ruins at Coba. Surrounded by two large lagoons, Coba was once the centre of a thriving community, trading extensively throughout the region. It is home to the tallest pyramid in the Yucatan, Nohoch Muul, rising an impressive 42 metres above the surrounding jungle. There will also be plenty of free time to explore this fascinating site on your own or if you wish you can take a guided tour. Bicycles are also available for hire if you don't feel like walking.
Then after visiting the site, you'll head to a local restaurant for an authentic Yucatan-style lunch. Afterwards, we'll stop at an authentic Mayan community where you'll get to meet the locals. Here you'll learn all about local traditions, culture and history directly from the village people. We'll also stop for a dip at a fresh-water cenote and you can also soar over the treetops on a zipline.
