Learn the history and all kind of anecdotes of the guilds from the Middle Ages up to now in this guided visit to La Casa de la Seda, the only guildhouse open to the public. La Casa de la Seda is located on the nobel floor of La Casa dels Velers, the current headquarters of El Col·legi de l'Art Major de la Seda (The Art of Silk Association). It is a boroque building in the Ribera neighborhood, bordering the Gothic Quarter and right next to the Palau de la Musica Catalana.
La Casa de la Seda is catalogued as a Natinal Cultural Heritage and its original engravings of the facade from the 18th c. have been conserved. The visit includes: the stunning guild hall with silk lined walls and rich ornaments, the library with more than 3000 documents from 1533 until today and the majestic presidential office and the meeting room.
