Kiwanda Maji is the NEW attraction for the Guanacaste region. Its name, derived from the Swahili language, means “The factory of water”, a term that perfectly applies for the area and the property, being surrounded by rivers and waterfalls, and the tropical Rainforest of the area.

Kiwanda Maji is the perfect combination between a working farm and the rich nature that is present in the area to offer several hectares of forest, nature trails, and rich flora and fauna. The property has extension of 180 hectares, some of which have been dedicated farm, in which you enjoy the goats, sheep, horses and donkeys. You’ll learn about the important contribution they provide the form with. Next you’ll visit the milking station and cheese factory, where fresh cheese combinations are produced. The visit to the farm ends with the “Hens and friends” gallery.

The day continues with the nature walk, visiting first “Itio’s waterfall” with its impressive beauty and fall. Afterwards, venture into the “Heliconias” trail, a path of 780 meters length. Here, there is an opportunity to observe big trees such as the ceibas, chapernos and cecropias, and palms of different varieties, all combined with humid soils that are excellent habitats, rich in nutrients that induce the growth of mushrooms, lichens and insects. Walking slowly and discover a unique universe both at our feet, and over our heads, where birds live.

To finish the experience, arrive at the Restaurant and its lake, surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Blue River (Rio Azul), The Lake, whose waters come from the Volcano, provides an opportunity for a refreshing bath, a kayak ride or a walk around its surroundings to enjoy the natural beauty.
