The Hokkaido Rail Pass is the best way to travel in Hokkaido with unlimited travel on JR trains (except the Hokkaido Shinkansen) and most JR buses in Hokkaido on three, five or seven consecutive days or on four days of your choice within a 10-day period. All ticket deliveries will be sent to you.
Trains and buses included in the pass:
All Limited Express, Rapid and local trains on JR Hokkaido lines
JR Hokkaido buses within Sapporo, JR Hokkaido Express buses between Sapporo-Otaru (Chuo buses are not included).
Redeem address: 1) Sapporo Station JR information desk, 4 Chome Kita 6 Jonishi, Kita Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido.
2) New Chitose Airport Station JR information desk, Bibi, Chitose, Hokkaido.
Redeem point schedule: Daily from 8:30am to 7pm.
Duration: 3 days, 5 days, 7 days or flexible 4 days.
Required documentation: Hokkaido Rail Pass voucher, passport. Please note that your name on the pasport must match the name in the order.
Others: You will receive an "Hokkaido Rail Pass Exchange Order" within 5 days and you can validate and exchange upon arrival in Hokkaido.
Upon arrival in Japan, your order should be validated and exchanged for your actual pass and this can be done at offices of JR Pass all over Hokkaido.
Neither an exchange voucher nor a Hokkaido Rail Pass can be reissued if lost or stolen.
An exchange voucher that has not been turned in for a Hokkaido Rail Pass and has not exceeded one year after the date of issue, can be refunded at the same company that has issued the exchange voucher.
A handling charge and a communication fee, set forth by the regulations of the issuing company, will be deducted (the cost of shipping will not be refunded. In addition, shipping fee for any exchange vouchers required to be shipped back will be the responsibility of the customer).
The Hokkaido Rail Pass cannot be used for travel on Hokkaido Shinkansen.
