Información

Located in Itsukushima, the Itsukushima shrine has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. It has been visited by many tourists for its breathtaking scenery and rich history that dates back to 1400. The shrine has a unique architectural design called "Shinden style” (temple style) and is built over the bay so that when the tide rises, it looks as if it's floating.

By exploring this island, you will have a unique experience with local Japanese guides who are fluent in the history of Itsukushima. There are a number of historical sites that are known only to local residents. Not only can you learn more about Japanese history and culture but you'll be able to have some peace and quiet that is hard to find in busy cities.

Points of interest/ itinerary:
1. Itsukushima Shrine - The famous shrine is the source of the island's name. Its iconic torii gate built in the water appears to float effortlessly in the sea during high tides. The shrine complex includes other buildings including a main hall, a prayer hall, a theater stage, and much more.

2. Daisho-in - The oldest temple in Miyajima is located where you can look over the wonderful view of the city. The boom of the temple bell and the smell of the incense will heal your heart.

3. Momijidani Park - From spring to summer, you will be able to see beautiful green trees all over, and these leaves change their colors into yellow and red in autumn, which is absolutely amazing.
