Located within the Thai Red Cross Institute, The Pattaya Snake Farm was set up to keep different poisonous snakes for venom collection in order to produce anti-venom serum for snake-bite victims worldwide. This is because Thailand, being a tropical country, is abounding with snakes, resulting in a huge number of casualties every year in the country.

Visitors to the Snake Farm can catch venom-milking and snake-handling shows. It has become an attraction in Bangkok for tourists all over the world, and is visited by scientists, educational bodies and distinguished visitors. The snake show lasts about 15-20 minutes During this time the snake handler evades the bites of a python, jumping snakes and the deadly cobra You are free to wander round when the snake show has finished. There is a selection of snakes and various other scary looking creatures including spiders.
