The Rock is as synonymous with Gibraltar as Big Ben is with London, and the Eiffel Tower is with Paris. Our first port of call on this limestone mountain is Europa Point, the southernmost part of Gibraltar. You can usually spot the coast of North Africa here – it’s only 20-odd kilometres away. From here, we’ll make our way to the network of World War II tunnels that burrows through the rock. A guide will lead you through the tunnels, where you’ll see the accommodation bunkers and view an exhibition of maps and photos. After stopping off at Jocks Balcony for a sky-high view of Gibraltar’s airfield, we’ll head back down to the city centre where you can shop and grab some lunch. As well as touring the Rock, we’ll spend an hour out at sea, where you’ll have the chance to spot dolphins swimming and playing in the wild.
