Listed as one of the seven Ancient Capitals of China, Hangzhou is the largest city of Zhejiang Province. As Hangzhou was founded in the Qin Dynasty, the city with its long and rich history has many places of interest to visit.
Hu Xue Yan was a famous businessman during the Qin Dynasty. The architecture of this time can be seen at his former residence which is a complex of more than 20 buildings many of which were built using high quality timber. A visit to the Grand Canal Museum explains the history behind this famous canal which runs from Beijing to Hangzhou. A visit to Hangzhou would not be complete without seeing the West Lake which is regarded as a symbol for the city. Chinese medicine and Chinese tea both play important roles in Chinese society.
