Visit the busy and historical city of Higuey, the largest church in the country, Basilica La Altagracia and one of the oldest (500 years), San Dionicio. You walk approximately 10 minutes between the two churches which will give you the feel of the Higuey city life and opportunity to see some local shops. Also visit the La Atlagracia’s Museum with a wide variety of religious artifacts as well a typical sugarcane factory.
