Since more than 30 years the taxis from Espot offer transport services to the Aigüestortes National Park and Lake Sant Maurici. In 1996, with the aim of providing a better service to our customers, we formed an ASSOCIATION. The ASSOCIATION OF ESPOT TAXIS is made up of 25 four-wheel drive taxis with which we offer a variety of excursions and options for visiting the Aigüestortes National Park and Sant Maurici Lake.

They are located at the village of Espot, in the Pallars Sobirà region, the Pyrenees of Lleida. They are just at the entrance (on the right hand side) of the village of Espot, at the far north-west of Catalonia, at the Pallars Sobirà region and at 30 km from its capital, Sort. At 1,320m of altitude, Espot is on our way to the area of Sant Maurici and offers all the charm of a high mountain village. he parish church of Santa Llogaia, first referred to in 839, is a typical construction of the valley, with a nave and square-shaped bell tower, to be seen at one end of Espot Solau. At the other site of the village, Espot Obago, there is an old circular defense tower, known as the Moors Tower.

A Romanesque bridge over the River Escrita, connects the two suburbs. This excursion will allow us to visit the Sant Maurici Lake and the surrounding landscape. The taxi leaves the village of Espot and, 20 minutes later, we will arrive at the Estany de Sant Maurici. You can be there as long as you want and go back to Espot from the same point where the taxi dropped you off. Schedules of the return trip vary by the season. From the Lake you will be able to see the Encantats Mountains, the very symbol of the National Park. The larger of the two, Encantat Gran, is 2.745 m. high and the smaller, Encantat Petit, is 2.725 m. in height. You can also see the Roca de l'Estany (2.505 m.) and Portarró d'Espot (2.428 m.), the meeting point between the two hillsides of the National Park, Sant Maurici and Aigüestortes. The Lake Sant Maurici is the starting point for many excursions, for example:
- To the Ratera waterfall (30 minutes, one way)
- Around the lake (1 hour 30 minutes)
- The Monestero valley (1 hour 30 minutes, one way)
- Mount Portarró d'Espot (2 hours, one way)

Start/opening time: At 9am.
End/closing time: To return is arranged directly with the driver, the last return is at 6pm.
Others: Return tickets are only valid for the same day of issue. Maximum capacity 7 people. Length: 20-25 'each way. Suitable for all ages. Children from 0 to 2 years old are free.
