Board the M/V Makai and settle in the cushy comfort of the upper decks "Sky Lounge" as we cruise to the evenings Manta site for your Big Island snorkeling. Enjoy the scenic Kona coast as your crew pampers you with a light snack and beverage. Upon arrival, move to the lower “wet” deck and prepare for the experience of a lifetime as you anticipate the arrival of the giant Kona Manta Rays. You will be provided a wetsuit, mask and snorkel.

Manta Rays swim within inches of our guests as they hold on to our specially designed “Circle of Light” viewing frame. This frame allows Manta Rays to swim up in front our guests not just beneath them. This not only gives our guests the opportunity for a better viewing of the Manta Rays, it also allows for a safer encounter for the Manta Rays. Human contact such as accidental kicking or touching the Mantas is greatly reduced.

After your Manta Ray dive Kona experience, return to the "Sky Lounge" to share your experience with the other guests and warm up with a hot chocolate or Mai Tai. Sit back enjoy Kona's coastal skyline and reflect the evenings adventure.

This tour can also be booked as a ride-along watch tour where you can view the Kona Manta Rays from the glass bottom boat wells.

Start/opening time: September 1st to March 31st: 7.30pm departure, April 1st to August 31st: 8pm departure.

All Children under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian and all guests must sign a waiver of liability.
Children under 8 years are not permitted.
We regret that we are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs due to the unpredictable nature of the ocean conditions. Must be able to walk across a ten foot long ramp to main deck with little or no assistance. One step to enter ramp, one step to exit ramp. Access to upper deck is 15 steps.
