Información

Combining a visit to a magnificent classical site with an experience of local life visiting a weekly market and a picturesque hilltop village, this tour ticks all the boxes. Ephesus is the best preserved classical city of the Eastern Mediterranean and among one of the best places in the world to be able to 'soak in' the atmosphere of Roman times. This once thriving metropolis once had as many as 250,000 inhabitants and gives a real feel of how the city once looked as you walk down marble-paved streets and admire the remains of the Selcuk Library, Hadrian’s Temple and the amphitheatre.

After Ephesus, on the way to the village of Sirince, the tour stops at Selcuk market for some free time to see the wonderful local produce brought in from nearby villages to sell as well as stalls selling textiles. Sirince is famous for the lovely architectural style of its houses and for making fruit wine. Once inhabited by Greeks, there are the remains of a church behind the narrow, cobbled streets where local women sell handmade tablecloths and souvenirs.
