See what it takes to bring Mardi Gras to life year after year on this behind-the-scenes tour. Experience firsthand the hard work and extensive planning that goes into this grand event. Knowledgeable guides take the mask off Mardi Gras with an all-access tour, winding through the massive studio where the breathtaking parade floats are built from the ground up. You’ll learn about the history of this unique and festive tradition and go beyond its reputation to get a deeper understanding of the real Mardi Gras.

There are plenty of opportunities for photos in front of floats, with props, or wearing a traditional Mardi Gras costume on this New Orleans tour. This is an experience you will want to document, so don’t forget to bring your camera!

Duration: Tours run every 30 minutes and last about an hour.
Start/opening time: Mardi Gras World is open daily from 9.30am to 5.30pm. First tour starts at 9.30am and last tour at 4.30pm. Last tour starts at 1pm the Saturday, Sunday and Monday before Mardi Gras Day. Closed on the following holidays: Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, Easter Sunday, Mardi Gras Day.
Languages:English. Self-Guided brochures available in German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and Mandarin.
Others: Tours include a display of Mardi Gras costumes, a historic video and a free slice of King Cake.
If guests do not use our complimentary shuttle, the closest parking is available in Lot J across from our entrance. Children under 2 years old are complimentary.
7 days prior to Fat Tuesday, we cannot guarantee if the parade floats will be in the warehouse for the tour.
