The highlight is the archaeological site of Asclepion, where you’ll clock the remains of what’s said to be the first ever hospital in the world. The pretty village of Zia is next on the list. It’s perched high in the mountains, with panoramic views over the Aegean across to Turkey. Then it’s on to a winery for a tour and to taste some of the varieties. From there, you’ll be whisked off to the south of Kos for a lesson on how to prepare the traditional dish, moussaka. Lunch will be served in a spot with views over the beautiful bay of Kamari, before heading to Agios Stephanos to visit an old Christian Basilica.
