A winding river, mud baths and a sea turtle sanctuary – this is the ultimate Dalyan tour. First on the to-do list is a boat cruise. The Dalyan River is a long, lazy stretch of reed beds, ancient tombs and teal-blue waters. You could even spy turtles as you drift by the sand bank nicknamed Turtle Beach. Part of the riverbank also doubles as a mud bath packed with minerals. It’s something of a celebrity haunt – Sting, Dustin Hoffman and David Bowie have all been spotted here. After lunch, we’ll head to the centre of Dalyan, where you’ll get an hour to explore a bazaar. It’s a traditional set-up, so expect heaps of fruit and vegetables and stalls hung with patterned crockery. Ituzu Beach is the last stop. On this long, sandy stretch, we’ll drop by a turtle sanctuary that rescues and treats injured turtles. The trip is finished off with free time for swimming or wandering the mountain-backed beach.
