You'll discover what really makes Jamaica tick on this trip. Leaving the beaches behind, you'll head into the island's interior. Your drive will take you through the foothills of the Catadupa Mountains, past fields of tropical wild flowers and teary waterfalls. Then you'll pull up at the Croydon Plantation. This working plantation grows coffee, pineapples and citrus fruit. A guided tour here will give you a ‘this is your life'-style insight into the pineapple. Plus, it will explain how coffee goes from bean to cup. As you walk around, you'll be able to try tipples made with the plantation products, like freshly-squeezed juice and just-ground Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. You'll also be able to bite into nature's own candy :sugar cane. Don't eat too much, though, because you'll be tucking into a barbecue lunch after the tour. At some point during this trip, you'll also get to see the birthplace of Samuel Sharpe, who has been the island's national hero ever since he led the slave rebellion in the Jamaican Baptist War.
