Información

Most Danes are satisfied with their lives and convinced that they live in the best of all countries. Therefore they are enthusiastic about surveys naming Danes the happiest people of the world and Copenhagen the world´s most livable and healthiest city.

With its 500.000 inhabitants Copenhagen is just big enough to offer a metropolitan atmosphere without losing the “hyggelig” and peaceful ambience of the once medieval fishing village.

But are the Danes really that happy, and who are these Danes when it comes to it? What is the story behind? How do they live their lives with work, home, marriage and divorce, children and seniors. What do they eat and which historical events have made the Danes of today.

Copenhagen is bikes, bikes, bikes; sun, rain or snow, “Borgen”, Carlsberg and “smørrebrød”, New Nordic Kitchen, hot dog stands, quaint little taverns, fashion, design and old city center along with modern architecture at the harbor front. You will also meet Lilly or Kirsten, who are going to guide this tour. Kirsten, has spent most of her life teaching in elementary school and lives with her husband – with whom she has been married for more than 25 years. Kirsten enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of Copenhagen with visitors from all over the world – and she likes to mix facts with fun anecdotes.

Lilly has worked for many years as a librarian. Like the typical inhabitant of Copenhagen she lives alone, and spends her summer time biking out of the city to her allotment garden. She likes to share her city with foreign visitors, and do not mind sharing personal experiences of being a Dane.

Lilly and Kirsten are both very knowledgeable about Denmark, Copenhagen and the Danes – and happy to answer any question that you might have.
