We invite you to take a private walk through native Mediterranean vegetation, during which you will learn to fly one of the trained hawks from Las Colinas International School of Falconry. Each session will last around 60 minutes, starting with a brief introduction by the instructor, who then takes you on a route where you can experience flying your bird freely and discover the joys of an ancient art.
The International School of Falconry Las Colinas invites you to experience the unique feeling of flying birds of prey in beautiful Mediterranean woodland. You don’t have to be an expert or even an enthusiast. Any who wishes to take part can relish the experience of flying a Harris hawk, a species known for its sociable nature, for the first time, or other birds of prey at the school. One of our specialised instructors will accompany you, providing the necessary guidelines and support during your walk with the hawk through the forest. You can fly a trained bird on your own or with friends or family.
You can enjoy very special moments at our school, such as the sensation of carrying a hawk perched on your gauntlet or seeing the bird obey your call and fly straight back to your fist. Don’t forget to wear suitable outdoor footwear and bring a camera; all other necessary materials for the activity -gauntlets, hawking bags, etc…- will be provided by our staff. The International School of Falconry Las Colinas offers a unique proposition in Spain, providing the opportunity to discover and share the pleasure of the art of falconry, which has been proclaimed a Living Human Heritage, in a practical, easy and entertaining way. We encourage you to enjoy a different and memorable experience by taking a private walk through Mediterranean woodland, during which you will interact with one of our birds of prey and watch their free flight.
Our school is managed by a team of professionals, who are experts in rearing, training and handling birds of prey. They look after a wide range of birds including hawks, falcons, owls and goshawks, which are trained by our falconers and are all accustomed to interacting regularly with people. The privileged location of the International School of Falconry enables those taking part in our falconry activities to enjoy unique natural surroundings.
