For an authentic snapshot of island life, this tour is spot on. It begins in Pollensa, a pretty town that's nestled in the spot where the land and sea meet at the end of the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains. When you get here, you'll be able to pick a path around the Roman streets under your own steam. In the heart of town, you'll find the tree-lined main square. Pull up a chair here and people-watch over an espresso. Or point your camera at the geraniums pouring out of the balcony-clad buildings. You can scoop a saving at the local market, too. It's a colourful circus of fruit and veg, and you'll also find lots of bespoke jewellery on offer. Up next is a wander around the nearby Port of Pollensa. Once a sleepy hub for fishermen, it's now more James Bond-style yachts than pastel-coloured fishing boats. The up-market waterfront eateries are the place to go for steaming plates of net-fresh seafood. And there are a few beaches peppered around if you're after some downtime. Most of them have really warm, shallow waters, so they're perfect for paddling if you've got the little ones with you.
