Discover some of Mauritius’ more unusual attractions on this trip. We’ll kick off at the Glass Museum, where you’ll have a guided tour of the exhibits. The star attraction is the ‘Hands of Fame’ display – a collection of casts of celebrity hands made from 100% recycled glass. Follow in their footsteps and have a cast of your own hand made, or pick up a few unique blown-glass pieces in the gift boutique. Next on the agenda is Bagatelle shopping mall. Traditional Chinese dancers will greet you, before you’re taken on a tour of the craft market. You’ll have a couple of hours to browse the stalls and boutiques, so save room in your suitcase for plenty of souvenirs. Lunch will be at the Flying Dodo, the island’s first brewery, and there’ll be time for a quick look round before we sit down. We’ll finish up at Eureka, a traditional Creole house nestled between the Moka Range and a ravine carpeted in greenery. The house was built back in 1830, and is stuffed with antiques and rare objets d’art. Once you’ve had a nose around, take a seat on the veranda and enjoy a cup of tea overlooking the gardens.
