Enjoy a picturesque train ride through Sunshine Valley, followed by a visit of Antequera, a historic town with loads of monuments. You can see quite a few of them by the fortress at the top of the town. Here you’ll also get some great panoramic views before making your way into the centre. You’ll enjoy a tapas lunch on the way to the spectacular El Torcal park, a moon landscape of giant rock formations.
Last pick up 9am in Nerja, then on to Malaga’s main train station. Enjoy a scenic train ride (approx 50 min) through the Sunshine Valley, past orange orchards. Last part of the journey allows some spectacular views of the El Chorro gorge. Customers get off at Bobadilla station, the bus takes them on a 15 min scenic drive to Antequera. When arrival centre of Antequera, walking tour including visit of one of Antequera’s numerous churches, passing typical local houses with patios, town hall and coffee stop at the lovely “La Antequerana” café, famous for Spanish Christmas sweets etc. Customers can opt out of the tour and have free time instead.
Lunch in restaurant El Mirador, with great views of the Alcazaba and the rest of the town. Clients are each served a plate with pork in a sauce (can be exchanged for chicken or vegetarian option), fries and salad. Lunch includes wine, casera and water and a dessert (flan). Afer lunch visit of famous viewpoint at the top of Antequera, for fabulous views across the city and “lovers Rock”, see the Arco de Gigante (Giant’s Arch), the Sta Maria la Mayor Church (entry with audioguide included), the Roman Baths etc. There is a 10-minute walk each way along a picturesque road from the coach stop to the viewpoint. At about 3.30pm arrival at El Torcal National park, with its fabulous rocky landscape. Clients will get an explanation of the rock formations in the Visitors centre, they can watch a video and walk to the viewpoint (300 metres).
