Welcome on board of the Amsterdam Dinner Train!

Red carpet boarding the train, a warm welcome from our hosts and hostesses and exploring the diverse Dutch landscape, while savoring a splendid brunch, lunch or dinner and a fine selection of wines and beers: more romantic is hardly possible.

As soon as Amsterdam Dinner Train’s majestic 65 year old locomotive appears at Amsterdam Central Station all views are directed to the special and stylish train. The locomotive and carriages all have a remarkable history on the Dutch and European railway network.

Book your tickets for the Amsterdam Dinner Train today (see: tickets) and be part this unique tasteful experience! The Amsterdam Dinner Train tours are offered throughout most of the year. The train is open for booking approximately three months in advance, given that the train tours are planned in between the regular public transport train services.

You will be welcomed on board of our stylish train with an appetizer, a festive start of your night out touring and dining. During this 2:45 h train tour through the ‘Green heart region’ our chef prepares your brunch, lunch or dinner ‘live’ on board, while our friendly waiters attend to your every need. The Amsterdam Dinner Train without a doubt is the most tasteful train journey in The Netherlands and beyond!

The Amsterdam Dinner Train is powered by a 65 years old locomotive of the E 1200 series formerly operated by the Dutch railways. These locomotives were assembled in the Netherlands according to a US design with heavy sheets of steel. The Netherlands obtained these locomotives as part of the Marshall help program for the reconstruction works after World War II.

Culinary mastermind of the Amsterdam Dinner Train is celebrity chef Julius Jaspers. He presented and was a judge for both ‘Topchef’ and ‘Masterchef’ in The Netherlands Jaspers, besides celebrity chef and writer also owner of the Julius Bar&Grill and HappyHappyJoyJoy restaurants, found a childhood dream come true with the Amsterdam Dinner Train. “I’ve always liked trains. My vision on cooking, ‘smart’ cooking, is very applicable to cooking on board of a train. It’s all about being very well prepared.” Julius now has already published five ‘Smart Cooking’ books and recently released ‘Smart BBQ’.
