HIGHLIGHTS:
* Visit the 5th Station of Mt Fuji
* Experience the curious natural beauty of Aokigahara Forest
* Explore inside a lava cave with your guide
From Tokyo we travel by bus for the first part of our journey to the oft pictured and perfectly shaped volcano, Mt Fuji. Once we reach the Fuji Visitor Centre, here you can learn about the volcano through displays and films and gain views of the volcano up close from the 2nd floor observatory. Next it’s time to travel through the clouds 7,546 ft above sea level to Mt Fuji 5th Station – nicknamed the border between heaven and earth – located halfway up the mountain.
After a tasty Japanese-style lunch, it’s time to be at one with nature with a walk around Aokigahara Forest, also known as the Sea of Trees. Be awe-inspired by the mighty effect of the curious landscape where tree roots sneak above ground and where lava flow, volcanic rock and caves lay exposed to the naked eye. Explore inside a lava cave produced by a volcanic eruption of Mt Fuji with the help of your guide, before hopping back on the expressway bus to Shinjuku Express Bus Terminal.
